Pin table: 1 VDD1, 2 VDD2, 3 DOU, 4 DIN, 5 GND, 6 BIN. The two VDD pins and the BIN auxiliary input are on the same sheet; the part is not the 5 V OPSCO SK6812.

Datasheets disagree: the pin diagram labels the bottom-right pad “VDD” while the table lists it as VDD2; and the cut corner is bottom-right in the labelled diagram but top-left in the outline top view of the same page.

Outline and pin positions checked against the manufacturer datasheet (C5349959 XL-5050RGBC-SK6812B p12 (outline and labelled pin diagram)). Table numbering is not a ring: 1 VDD1 (middle right), 2 VDD2 (bottom right), 3 DOU (top right), 4 DIN (top left), 5 GND (middle left), 6 BIN (bottom left), placed by the labelled diagram. The pin diagram has the cut corner bottom-right; the outline top view of the same sheet shows it top-left (180 degrees rotated), so the diagram orientation is used. What this means.

Compatibility

  • protocol compatible SK6812

Only the title says SK6812B. A 12 V (9-14 V) part with VDD1/VDD2 pins, 8.5 mA per channel, a BIN auxiliary input and "intelligent reverse connection protection"; the OPSCO SK6812 is a 5 V part. Nothing in the sheet states compatibility. source ↗

Dating evidence

Nobody announces these parts, so this records what we can actually cite rather than a release date. Library support proves only that the part existed by that date.
