The IC TUOZHAN names in its 3535, 3528 and 2020 sheets; the 0807 sheet calls it HC-1815 (and its 5 mA default is a different current setting, recorded on the part). Same single-wire framing and timing as the maker’s TZ2812.

Datasheets disagree: the TZ-2020 sheet’s product line says “2020 HC-1815” and its text says TZ-1815, and the sheet’s code-timing paragraph calls the protocol “HC-1815”. The TZ-3528 sheet text says “TZ-1815” in places and “T-1815” in one. Treated as one IC name with three spellings.

The TZ-3528 and TZ-3535 sheets describe the part as “SMD 5050” in their feature lists (copied from the 5050 sheet), and the TZ-2020 sheet’s model-code explanation says “3528 package size”. The mechanical drawings, not these sentences, are used for the dimensions.

Refresh & flicker

PWM 4 kHz in the electrical table (page 5 of each sheet); the overview on page 2 says the PWM signal period is “4 MS” (250 Hz) - an unresolved disagreement, also present in the TZ2812 sheet. Quiescent 0.3 mA. Output current 12 mA per channel on the 3535, 3528 and 2020 sheets and 5 mA on the 0807 sheet.

Clones & compatibility

“Compatible” is never stated bare here — each relationship carries how strong the claim is, and what bites if you assume too much.

  • electrically similar TZ2812

Same timing table, supply range, PWM figure and 12 mA default output as the TZ2812 sheet. The sheets give the IC three names: TZ1815 (3535 sheet, which also writes TZ-1815), TZ-1815 (3528 and 2020 sheets) and HC-1815 (0807 sheet, and the "2020 HC-1815" product name on the 2020 sheet). Whether these are one die or several is not stated. source ↗

  • electrically similar SK6812

Inferred from the printed numbers only; no TUOZHAN sheet names SK6812. The OPSCO SK6812 2025 sheet's typical timing (T0H 320, T0L 800, T1H 700, T1L 200 ns) falls inside all four TZ1815 windows, and both send 24 bits GRB. TZ1815 resets after 80 us where the 2025 SK6812 sheet asks for more than 200 us. source ↗

  • electrically similar of this TZ2812

The TZ-1815 / HC-1815 sheets from the same company print an identical timing table, supply range, 4 kHz PWM and 12 mA default output. The two names are the maker's; no sheet says one replaces the other.

Not checked against any library’s chipset list. No library names TZ1815 or HC-1815.

Evidence, not a release date. A library commit proves the part existed by that date and says nothing about how long before.
