TUOZHAN’s 12 mA single-wire IC for 5050 packages, named only in the sheet’s product-name line (“5050 Huancai TZ2812”) and overview text. The sheet does not say who designed the die.
Datasheets disagree with themselves in small ways: page 2 says the PWM output period is 4 ms but the page-5 table says 4 kHz; page 8 states “high bit first, GRB order” for the 24-bit structure and then “R/G/B order” under the cascade diagram. The 24-bit structure line is the more specific one and is what the catalogue assumes (GRB) - not verified on hardware. The absolute maximum table gives a 3.0-7.5 V logic supply while the electrical table gives 3.5-7.5 V; the narrower recommended range is recorded.
Refresh & flicker
PWM 4 kHz in the electrical table (page 5). The overview text on page 2 says the PWM output signal period is “4 MS”, which would be 250 Hz; the table figure is recorded and the 4 ms text is flagged as an unresolved disagreement (the TZ1815 sheets repeat both). Quiescent 0.3 mA. Output current 12 mA per channel by default.
Timing
| Source | T0H | T0L | T1H | T1L | Period | Rate | Reset | ± |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| datasheet ↗ | 295 ns | 595 ns | 595 ns | 295 ns | 890 ns | 1124 kHz | 80 µs | — |
| Typical values from a min/typ/max table: T0H 200/295/350 ns, T0L 550/595/1200 ns, T1H 550/595/1200 ns, T1L 200/295/350 ns; symbol period at least 890 ns (the sheet’s note says write programs for at least 900 ns) and reset (low) at least 80 us. The sheet adds that the low time of a 0 or 1 code must stay under 15 us. Data is sent high bit first; page 8 says “GRB order” under the data-structure line and “R/G/B order” under a second caption (see the notes). | ||||||||
Clones & compatibility
“Compatible” is never stated bare here — each relationship carries how strong the claim is, and what bites if you assume too much.

TZ1815
The TZ-1815 / HC-1815 sheets from the same company print an identical timing table, supply range, 4 kHz PWM and 12 mA default output. The two names are the maker's; no sheet says one replaces the other. source ↗

SK6812
Inferred from the printed numbers only; no TUOZHAN sheet names SK6812 or any other vendor. The OPSCO SK6812 2025 sheet's typical timing (T0H 320, T0L 800, T1H 700, T1L 200 ns) falls inside all four TZ2812 windows (T0H 200-350, T0L 550-1200, T1H 550-1200, T1L 200-350 ns) and both send 24 bits GRB. Differences: TZ2812 resets after 80 us where the 2025 SK6812 sheet asks for more than 200 us, supply to 7.5 V against 5.5 V, and a WS2812B-style 400/850 ns stream is NOT inside the T0H window. source ↗

Meihua MHP5050 IC (unnamed)
The TUOZHAN TZ2812 sheet prints the same typical timing figures (T0H 295 / T0L 595 / T1H 595 / T1L 295 ns), 80 us reset and GRB order, and the same 5050 pin order. Window widths differ (TZ2812: T0H 200-350 ns; Meihua: 295 +/-50 ns), supply is 3.0-7.5 versus 3.5-7.5 V, and PWM is 3-5 kHz versus 4 kHz. No sheet states that one is a copy of the other.

TZ1815
Same timing table, supply range, PWM figure and 12 mA default output as the TZ2812 sheet. The sheets give the IC three names: TZ1815 (3535 sheet, which also writes TZ-1815), TZ-1815 (3528 and 2020 sheets) and HC-1815 (0807 sheet, and the "2020 HC-1815" product name on the 2020 sheet). Whether these are one die or several is not stated.
Library support
Not checked against any library’s chipset list. No library names TZ2812.

Evidence, not a release date. A library commit proves the part existed by that date and says nothing about how long before.
