Datasheets disagree: the specification page gives the height as 2.0 x 2.0 x 0.9 mm while the side-view drawing on page 2 is dimensioned 0.75 mm + 0.20 mm (0.95 mm); the sheet’s first paragraph names the part ‘BL-2020RGB LED’; the Features text recommends an 11 MHz clock (‘not to exceed 12MHz’) while the electrical table says FCLK <10 MHz and the absolute maximum table 15 MHz. American Bright’s own letterhead (not Bright LED Electronics) and Chino, CA address appear on this sheet. LCSC stock 0 on 2026-10-15.

Outline and pin positions checked against the manufacturer datasheet (C22063177 BB-2020BGR-TRB p2). Three columns by two rows: top row CO, VCC, CI; bottom row DO, GND, DI (the centre pads are the taller ones in the LED pad diagram). The sheet does NOT number the pads: the pin numbers here count row by row from the top-left, they are not the manufacturer's. 0.4 x 0.6 mm pads at 0.8 mm column pitch come from the chip-pad diagram, which is not marked as top or bottom view. What this means.

  2. 2 VCC power
  3. 3 CI clock in
  4. 4 DO data out
  5. 5 GND ground
  6. 6 DI data in

Protocol — ABOC IC-NL3C-BA two-wire IC

This is an SPI part: the clock is explicit, so there is no fixed bit period. The frame layout is shown below.

Compatibility

  • protocol compatible APA102

Same CIN/DIN clock-and-data arrangement and the same 32 zero-bit start frame, 3-bit '111' marker + 5-bit brightness and B, G, R order as APA102 on the page-4 description, but the sheet never mentions APA102 and gives no end-frame behaviour; recorded as a structural match. source ↗

Dating evidence

Nobody announces these parts, so this records what we can actually cite rather than a release date. Library support proves only that the part existed by that date.
