A six-pad two-wire pixel. Pad positions by the sheet (top view): VCC, CKO, SDO down the left side, GND, CKI, SDI down the right side. LED colours are lit in G, R, B order (“optimised mixing”, the sheet says it moved the dies against the IC’s default RGB order). The wiring is the same as a SK9822-style part (data, clock, both passed on), but the sheet never names SK9822 or APA102.

Datasheets disagree: the text says 16-bit gray scale but the frame has 8-bit colour bytes (see the protocol page). The pin table lists the names in the order SDI, CKI, GND, SDO, CKO, VCC, which is not the physical order; no pin numbers are printed. LCSC stock 935.

Outline drawn from the package family and the recorded dimensions; not yet checked against a datasheet. Pad sizes are approximate. The sheet prints pad NAMES, not numbers (SDI, CKI, GND, VCC, CKO, SDO); the numbers follow the OPSCO SK9822 sheets (pin 1 SDI at the cut corner) and are an assumption. Pad positions and names are from the sheet (VCC, CKO, SDO down the left; GND, CKI, SDI down the right; 1.0 mm pads, 5.4 mm across, 4.2 mm down) but the sheet marks no pin 1: the numbers and the cut corner at the SDI pad are assumed by analogy with the SK9822. What this means.

  1. 1 SDI data in
  2. 2 CKI clock in
  3. 3 GND ground
  4. 4 VCC power
  5. 5 CKO clock out
  6. 6 SDO data out

Protocol — TONYU 9822

This is an SPI part: the clock is explicit, so there is no fixed bit period. The frame layout is shown below.

Compatibility

  • electrically similar SK9822

Inferred from the part code and the frame diagram only; the TONYU sheet never names OPSCO, SK9822 or APA102. The 32-bit frames (start 32 zero bits, 111 + 5-bit brightness + three colour bytes, end 32 one bits) and the five-bit global brightness are the APA102 / SK9822 layout, with a different colour order (G, R, B here; OPSCO's SK9822 sheets print B, G, R or R, B, G) and a pin order of SDI, CKI, GND, VCC, CKO, SDO that matches OPSCO's SK9822 by position. PWM 4.6 kHz is close to the 4.7 kHz measured on SK9822 by cpldcpu. The 16-bit gray scale in the sheet's text is NOT supported by its own frame diagram (see the notes). source ↗
